I second Martin. I like that truck creeping up there. I guess like the great wall of China it's there to protect the garden from the "barbarian" fields

Oh, bounded by a wall, no Ha-Ha??? No cows and sheeps? This can'b a typical English Garden! But I like the composition with the clover-flowers (?) in the forground!

Chad Doveton: Lord Phillips had turned on the fountain in his garden to show us how forceful it is. This causes the weather to change in an area of 250 square miles. Thanks for the comment doc.

His lordship do have a great property....I love the clovers, does it mean he has bees and honey and we will be able to buy....Lorsdhip Honey and eat that in stead of the bacon-egg sandwich...??

Chad Doveton: Like Philine, an observationalist. i think that might be much inside my camera. I bought a kit to clean it but I might have to send it away to be done properly. No more removing the lens to take pin-hole pictures for me. It costs £70 to have the thing cleaned.

Chad Doveton: I think his Lordship had demolished most of it in a fit of rage when the bacon buttie specialist went on his annual holiday to Australia.

When the double glazing is done I must upgrade this wall.

It looks as if this was once an ornate barrier between the garden of the estate and the fields beyond. But they are crumbling away - both literally and metaphorically.

During the years that this has gradually happened society and social mores have broken down too. And this photograph illustrates this reality exquisitely

The wall lost a few pillars. Must have had some visiting heathens over to pillage the garden. I like the diagonal against the rolling landscape.

It's a wonder you don't have those two pillars of the community up on the stands.
